Goals are meant to be accomplished. Read and watch! A short video helps you learn more about SMART goals and how to set yourself up for success.
Setting your goals in life isn't a new idea, but have you thought about how they can play into your health and wellness?
When embarking on a new health/fitness journey, it is important to have an end goal in mind. Always striving to achieve will help to push yourself to always do better and never settle. But, accomplishing your goals doesn’t happen by just thinking about them. Make it your own strategy, and you are likely to be successful.
🎯 Setting your goals with a clear specific outcome.
Align goals with your overall vision. If you set a goal without being specific it will be hard to track your actual progress and to know if you actually accomplish your goal. Your goals need to be something you desire in order to create the need to accomplish them. Goals will come up short when you don’t desire them enough to keep pushing when the process gets tough.
⏰ Use measurable metrics to record your progress.
Fancy tools are not required. Simply recording notes weekly would help you track your progress. And there are tools that will enhance the process by tracking more detailed metrics and allow you to hit mini goals on your way to your main goal.
📆 Put a timeline on when you want to accomplish that goal.
When considering the time frame you need to account on how long it will take to reach the goal within reason. Now don’t set your goals too low because it will be easy to accomplish, but it's also not beneficial to set impossible goals either. Always use your best judgment when deeming what is actually doable if you gave it your best effort. Imagine yourself working at 100% effort when setting your timeline. It’s important to be able to track your goals on a timeline along the way.
Find goals within your goals!
🎊 Celebrate your mini accomplishments reached along the way to the ultimate prize. By tracking your progress, necessary adjustments are able to be made when needed. This will help to prevent and reduce any downfalls.
So your goal meets the necessary criteria to be considered a smart goal, but how do you align your goals with your mindset to not give up?
